PLOT

• Well-meaning, but socially awkward, Sawako Kuronuma (Mikako Tabe) is nicknamed "Sadako" by her classmates because of her similar hair cut with the main character from the horror movie "Ringu". Her life then takes a turn when Shota Kazehaya (Haruma Miura), the most popular boy in school, falls for her ...
  Sawako Kuronuma has a gloomy appearance and, because of this, is nicknamed "Sadako" by her peers. On the other hand, her personality is bright and caring. Her favorite motto is "do one good thing once a day," but she cares too much about others and cannot express her thoughts. This has made her somewhat of an outcast at school.
  Shota Kazehaya (Haruma Miura) is classmates with Sawako. Unlike Sawako, he is outgoing and popular with all the students. He is even polite with Sawako, which makes Sawako respect him and even admire him.
  Meanwhile, Kazehaya has special feelings towards Sawako. He notices the look of respect that Sawako gives to him and suppresses his own feelings for her. With help from Kazehaya, Sawako gets better at interacting with her classmates and even makes friends with Chizuru Yoshida (Misako Renbutsu) & Ayane Yano (Natsuna Watanabe ).
  This is a happy moment for Sawako as she has friends now that she can talk freely with. But, a strange rumor of her relationship with Chizuru dampens her joy. With the advice of Kazehaya, Sawako is able to maintain her friendships and, in fact, their friendship becomes stronger. Now being able to express her feelings to her friends, Sawako realizes she has special feelings for Kazehaya. During this time, a cute girl named Ume Kurumizawa (Mirei Kiritani), who has been friends with Kazehaya since middle school, appears in front of Sawako and confesses her feelings for Kazahaya and asks for her help ...

PLOT

• The Gist: Highschooler Miku, played by Aoi Morikawa, thinks her life is over when her parents decide to turn their home into a boarding house. Her opinion quickly changes when one of the three new borders is her "fated" man, her classmate Sohei (Yuri Chinen). Miku only knows Sohei is her fated man by the touch of his hand, remembering a time when someone helped her while she was feeling sick at school. Still, sure of this discovery, Miku is determined to make Sohei her boyfriend. That decision is complicated slightly by the entrance of Sohei's longtime girlfriend, Miyuki, portrayed by Fujiko Kojima. Trying to leave the two of them be, Miku turns her attentions towards Sohei's best friend Hayato (Jesse Lewis).  However, Sohei turns out to be a hard man to forget, considering he's living in the room next door. Miku's stuck between the two boys, hoping to find her love without hurting too many people.
• Sprout is the quintessential summer hit, an easy flow of problems that never become to heavy punctuated by glasses of tea and slices of watermelon. Sprout doesn't depend on large shocking events and surprising plot twists to keep the story moving. It really is a feel good drama, whose story is as warm and relaxed as a Japanese summer. That doesn't mean the story is bland, however, but embraces its soft aspects for enjoyable watching.
• Sprout is a good choice if you're looking for something light. It's definitely focused on the romance, with little else to hold your attention. The focus isn't bad, however, and it is good at being the kind of show it is. Warning: if you watch this show in the winter, it will make you pine for the summer.

PLOT

• Set within music field, "Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru" depicts a love story between a 25-year-old sound engineer and 16-year-old high school student Riko, who posessess a gifted voice.
  25-year-old sound engineer Aki (Takeru Sato) is a member of popular band "Crude Play," but right after the band decides to make their major record debut Aki quits the band. But, Aki provides his music to Crude Play under the name of producer Soichiro. Aki begins to date Riko (Sakurako Ohara), whose father runs a fruit and vegetable shop. Riko doesn't know about Aki's background, but she likes to listen to him hum. Riko is in a band herself, with childhood friend Yuichi and Sota. One day she is scouted by producer Soichiro.

PLOT

• Aoi Nishimori's (Ayame Gouriki) parents moved to another city for work, but Aoi didn't want to transfer to a new high school. She stays behind and lives in an apartment by herself. Shusei Kugayama (Kento Yamazaki) moves in next to Aoi's apartment. Shusei is a very popular student at their high school. Due to a mistake, Aoi makes the sprinkler go off in his room. PLOT

• Strobe Edge is the first film adaptation of the comic of the same name by Io Sakisaka, which has sold a cumulative total of 450 million copies. It deals with late-bloomer Ninako and her pure, one-sided crush on Ren, the most popular boy on campus, and draws the pain of first love.Ninako is a female high school student. She has a pure and honest personality. Her classmate Daiki likes her and she knows how he feels about her, but she isn't sure how she feels about him. Ninako does feel something unusual when she is around him.  
  One day, on the way home on the train, Ninako meets Ren. He attends the same high school as Ninako. Ren is popular with the female students. They spend more time together and Ninako begins to have feelings for Ren.

Juri Ueno (上野 樹里 Ueno Juri, born May 25, 1986) is a Japanese actress from Kakogawa, Hyogo, Japan. She was one of six actors to receive the "Newcomer of the Year" prize at the Japanese Academy Awards in 2005 for her role in Swing Girls.

She is also known for her starring role as the title character in the live-action adaptation of Nodame Cantabile for which she won "Best Lead Actress" at the 51st Television Drama Academy Awards in 2007, and as Ruka Kishimoto in Last Friends for which she was voted "Best Supporting Actress" at the Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix and the 57th Television Drama Academy Awards in 2008.

Ueno made her television debut in 2002 at the age of 16 in the NHK series Seizon before making her first film major appearance in 2003 in Chirosoku no Natsu which won her the Sponichi Grand Prize New Talent Award at the Mainichi Film Awards along with her performance in the 2004 film, Swing Girls. Swing Girls proved to be a breakthrough when she received critical acclaim and awards for Best Newcomer at the Yokohama Film Festival (she was also honored for her performance in Joze to Tora to Sakana Tachi) and theJapanese Academy Awards.

In 2004, Ueno took on a supporting role in TBS's romance drama, Orange Days, and co-starred in 2005 with Takuya Kimura in Fuji TV's romantic comedy Engine as Misae Hoshino. She also appeared with Kazuya Kamenashi in the special television movie of Kinda'ichi Shōnen no Jikenbo the same year taking over the role of Miyuki Nanase from Anne Suzuki.

Ueno's popularity rose further when she was cast as Megumi Noda ("Nodame") in the 2006 live-action television adaptation of the popular manga Nodame Cantabile. Co-starring opposite Hiroshi Tamaki, the series' 11-episode run was a success with an average viewership rating of 18.79% with the season finalé garnering 21.7% of the viewership share for its time slot. Ueno's portrayal as the eccentric and disorganized but yet extremely affable and talented pianist won her "Best Lead Actress" at the 51st Television Drama Academy Awards while the show won "Best Drama". The show was also recognized overseas at the 2nd Seoul Drama Festival where it was awarded "Best Miniseries". Ueno and Tamaki reprised their roles in 2007 in the two-part special, Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe, which chronicles their individual struggles to achieve success on Europe's storied classical music stage whilst being away from each other.

In 2008, Ueno reunited with Nodame co-stars, Eita and Asami Mizukawa, in Fuji TV's drama, Last Friends, as Ruka Kishimoto, a talented motocross racer with a hidden secret she cannot discuss with friends or family. Taeko Asano, the screenwriter of Last Friends praised Ueno's acting of Ruka, stating that Ueno is a "natural genius" and that she became "the character itself".Ueno won "Best Supporting Actress" at the 12th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix and The 57th Television Drama Academy Awards for her role. She was recognised as "Best Student Voice Actress" at the 2008 MTV Student Voice Awards for her role in Wanko.

The Japanese version of Vogue named her as one of the "Women of the Year 2008".

On December 9, 2008, it was announced that Ueno would again reprise her role as "Nodame" in a new Nodame Cantabile two-movie sequel slated for release in 2010.Filming is set to start in May 2009.

Miwa was born in Hayama, Kanagawa, however moved to Tokyo at a young age. Since her father had a great love for a music, miwa naturally began to enjoy music as she grew up.

miwa began writing songs at 15. She started self-learning how to play the guitar after she entered high school, but gave up and paid for professional lessons after finding she could not make a lot of progress learning by herself. Her high school had a ban on students having part-time jobs. Despite this, miwa secretly worked, and eventually used these savings by her second year of high school to buy a Gibson J-45 guitar. After this, miwa played live concerts mostly around Shimokitazawa in Tokyo and in Okinawa in the summer (her parents had a house there). Due to her high school also having a ban on students working in the entertainment business, she had to do these lives in secret (without even telling her school friends). In this time, miwa released two self-published independent singles, "Song for You/Today" and "Soba ni Itai Kara" in 2007 and 2008.

miwa was signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan during her third year of high school. She debuted as an artist in 2010, while attending Keio University. Her debut single, "Don't Cry Anymore," was chosen to be used for the drama Nakanai to Kimeta Hi's theme song. The single was a minor commercial success, breaking the top 20 on Oricon's single charts and being certified by the RIAJ as selling 100,000 full length cellphone downloads a month after its release. In April 2010, the song won the award for best drama theme song at the 64th The Television Drama Academy Awards, beating out songs such as Arashi's "Troublemaker" and Mr. Children's "Hanabi.

miwa released her second single, "Little Girl," in late June. Her third single, "Change," was the twelfth opening theme song for the Bleach anime, and was a top 10 single.

For the animated film adaptation of Eto Mori's novel Colorful, miwa covered two songs by famous Japanese artists. Yutaka Ozaki's "Boku ga Boku de Aru Tame ni" was used as the film's image song, and The Blue Hearts' song "Aozora" was used as the ending theme song of the film. Both songs were released as digital downloads on August 12, 2010.

miwa considers her favorite Western musicians to be Sheryl Crow, Deep Purple, Carole King, Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift. Her favorite Japanese musicians are Aiko, Angela Aki, Radwimps and Yuki.

miwa previously been a DJ on monthly radio show on All Night Nippon, miwa no All Night Nippon R (miwaのオールナイトニッポンR), every third Monday from 3:00am to 5:00am. It has since then been changed into a weekly show, now known as miwa no All Night Nippon (miwaのオールナイトニッポン), airing every Tuesday (early Wednesday) from 1:00am to 3:00am.

miwa released her first album Guitarissimo on April 6, 2011 (was scheduled to release a week earlier on end of March but was delayed due to the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunamiand its aftereffects). The charts performance was miwa's best overall: the album reached No. 1 in the Oricon's album charts, making miwa the first Heisei period-born solo singer to reach a No. 1 on the album charts in the history of the Oricon

Yui (ユイ^?, born March 26, 1987), stylized as YUI, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, actress and radio personality. Born and raised in Fukuoka prefecture, she played live at various locations in her hometown before being noticed by Sony Music Japan when she was 17 years old and released her debut single months later. However her singles were only met with moderate success until her breakout "Good-bye Days", which charted for 44 weeks on Oricon and marked her as one of the Japanese music industry's rising stars.

Since her debut album, From Me to You, each of her albums has topped the charts, and has had at least one single reach number one yearly since 2007, including five straight from mid-2008 to late-2010.

She is popular in Japan and in surrounding countries, ranking number one in 2011 Count Down TV "Dearest Female Artist" and Music Station "Artist You Most Want to Marry" polls, as well as Radio Television Hong Kong's "Most Popular Japanese Artist

YUI began writing poems in ninth grade. At the age of 16, by recommendation of a friend, she began studying singing, songwriting, and guitar at a private music school in her hometown in Fukuoka. Aspiring to become professional, she carried her guitar around and performed at local areas like the seashore of Shingu and the middle of Kaminofu's rice fields.

In March 2003, at an audition hosted by Sony Music Japan, all of the judges evaluated her with the highest score, which caused a fierce scramble among labels. At this audition, she sang three songs: "Why me" (which was later coupled with her debut single), "It's happy line", and "I know" - though the audition rules stated that a participant could only sing two songs. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, she strummed her guitar and sang. The judges and the others present at the audition claimed that "the performance created a tremendous aura from her heavenly voice, and captured the hearts of the whole audience". "It's happy line" was then released as an indie single in December 2004, with "I know" as the second track.

Upon leaving Fukuoka for Tokyo, YUI wrote the song "feel my soul". She was planning to release it on an indie label as a tribute to her hometown, when the song caught the ears of Fuji TV producer, Mr. Yamaguchi, who happened to see the demo video clip.
